Five Years

FIVE YEARS! This month we celebrated five years of marriage. Gordon had the wonderful idea of putting together an album of five pictures for each of the five years. So, here it is! Enjoy!
2006
Ecuador. Mount Chimborazo, Ecuador's highest at 6,310m. We're standing at around 5,100m. Fenway Park, Green Monsta, Boston, Mass. USA. Our wedding day! Guapulo, Quito, Ecuador. This is allegedly the world's highest active volcano, Mount Cotopaxi, Ecuador- elevation 5,897 meters.
2007
Mount Vitosha, Sofia, Bulgaria. First hit since epic '99 season. Looking out from Saint Peter's Basilica, The Vatican City, Rome, Italy. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Berne, Switzerland, date 07-07-07. Locked in, waiting our turns for the 85 meter canyon jump-not for the faint of heart and not like bungy jumping. Interlaken, Switzerland. Lake Konstanz, Germany.
2008
Goreme, Turkey. Belogradchik, Bulgaria. SafeCo Field, Seattle, Washington- with Theo Epstein and Eddie Vedder. Saburo's Sushi House, Sellwood, Portland, Oregon- one of our favorite places to eat! Portland International Airport, Oregon departure for Nigeria.
2009
Bwari, Nigeria- pottery village. Benue State, Nigeria- the best mangoes! Oregon road trip coming in from Idaho. Crater Lake National Park, Oregon. The "roof" of Africa, the biggest free standing mounting in the world. We climbed through five distinct climate zones on the way up Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania.
2010
Zimbabwe Tourist Village, Nigeria. These awesome trucks from the 1960's are Nigeria's backbone. Zaria, Nigeria. Wood mallets on a wood plank. The cotton fabric of the mens' Kaftans is pounded until shiny and stiff by the local chief's men. 8,000 Naira for a hand-tailored "up and down." River life in Nigeria. Mining for the sand for concrete. Turkey with 13 international students from Nigeria. General Abubakar's country villa, Maizube Spot, Minna, Nigeria- Thanksgiving Break.
